  <description type="1">
    <narrative xml:lang="en">Migration Missing Links (MML) is a pilot initiative implemented by Seefar Foundation in Afghanistan and Ethiopia. The programme aims to improve the effectiveness of development programming related to migration by strengthening how potential beneficiaries are identified and supported.&#13;
&#13;
The project uses digital outreach and screening tools to identify individuals who may be considering irregular migration and who could benefit from existing livelihood or training programmes. Selected individuals receive counselling and are referred to partner initiatives providing employment, skills development, or entrepreneurship support.&#13;
&#13;
Participants receive ongoing psychosocial counselling to help them remain engaged in these opportunities and improve their chances of successful economic outcomes. Through this approach, the project seeks to improve livelihood prospects for individuals who might otherwise undertake irregular migration journeys, while generating evidence on how targeted development programming can address migration drivers.</narrative>

    <narrative xml:lang="en">RADIM is a community engagement and awareness-raising programme implemented to reduce irregular migration through tailored, evidence-based outreach. The programme pairs each communication modality with the audience segment it is best suited to reach, and includes an evaluation framework designed to measure outcomes in terms of irregular migration journeys prevented.&#13;
&#13;
The programme draws on Target Audience Analysis (TAA), the COM-B behaviour change framework, and the UK's existing messaging strategies. Target groups are validated through this research process and are expected to include 18–35-year-olds in communities with historically high rates of irregular migration, likely in Anbar, Baghdad, Basra, Dhi Qar, and Ninewa. Based on this evidence, the programme designs, operationalises, and iterates a multi-modal engagement and awareness-raising initiative tailored to these audiences.&#13;
&#13;
Working in close coordination with HMG, the programme also delivers a series of trainings and workshops for government and informal community leaders, equipping them with data, content, and tactics to address irregular migration in a more strategic manner.&#13;
&#13;
RADIM works across four areas of behaviour change:&#13;
&#13;
Capability – equipping young Iraqis and their communities with the knowledge and tools to critically assess the risks of irregular migration and counter misinformation from smugglers.&#13;
Awareness – increasing understanding of the challenges of irregular migration through engaging audiovisual content.&#13;
Opportunity – expanding awareness of and access to viable, sustainable alternatives, including local employment and legal migration pathways.&#13;
Motivation – challenging social norms that promote irregular migration and encouraging young people to reflect on their choices in favour of safer, legal alternatives.</narrative>
