In the North-East, this action will build on the achievements of a previous intervention continuing to support the Government to strengthen internal coordination and to design a strategy for a political resolution of the crisis. In relation to the conflict between farmers and herders, this action will build on the positive results and the lessons learnt in a pilot phase currently underway in Adamawa and extend the scope of the programme to Taraba State. In the North-West, the Government will be supported to reduce communal violence and mitigate conflicts over natural resources through strengthened dialogue and social cohesion within and between communities. This will include supporting transitional justice mechanisms, promoting civic engagement of women and local youth, and inter-generational dialogue to positively engage young people and to prevent them from associating with criminal groups.</narrative></description><participating-org ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI" role="1" type="15" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2022-ACT-61487"><narrative>European Commission</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XM-DAC-20000" role="2" type="90" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2022-ACT-61487"><narrative>NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATIONS (NGOs) AND CIVIL SOCIETY</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI" role="3" type="15" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2022-ACT-61487"><narrative>Service for Foreign Policy Instruments</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XM-DAC-20000" role="4" type="90" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2022-ACT-61487"><narrative></narrative></participating-org><other-identifier ref="2022600094" type="A2"></other-identifier><activity-status code="2"></activity-status><activity-date iso-date="2022-09-08" type="1"><narrative>Planned Start: 2022-09-08</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2022-09-08" type="2"><narrative>Actual Start: 2022-09-08</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2026-04-30" type="3"><narrative>Planned End: 2026-04-30</narrative></activity-date><contact-info type="1"><organisation><narrative>FPI</narrative></organisation><department><narrative>EC - In the Northwest, the action will build on the encouraging results of an EU pilot project in Katsina state, expanding to other states ¿ namely Sokoto and Zamfara - supporting community-based livelihoods, social cohesion and climate change adaptation projects. In the Middle Belt, support will focus on developing interfaith/intrafaith dialogue and mediation efforts as a means to swiftly de-conflict inter-community clashes that risk mounting in violence and intensity if left unattended. The action will strive to build on the capacity of religious leaders and their communities to promote peaceful intra and interfaith relationship and develop dialogue between leaders and communities. This approach will target communities most at risk of violence, fostering a culture of peace and mutual respect. Finally, the action will support mediation efforts in the Northeast, in order to explore and propose options for a political resolution of the crises.</narrative></description><participating-org ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI" role="1" type="15" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2024-ACT-62899"><narrative>European Commission</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XM-DAC-47066" role="2" type="40" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2024-ACT-62899"><narrative>International Organisation for Migration</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI" role="3" type="15" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2024-ACT-62899"><narrative>Service for Foreign Policy Instruments</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XM-DAC-47066" role="4" type="40" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2024-ACT-62899"><narrative></narrative></participating-org><other-identifier ref="2024604780" type="A2"></other-identifier><activity-status code="2"></activity-status><activity-date iso-date="2024-11-28" type="1"><narrative>Planned Start: 2024-11-28</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2024-11-28" type="2"><narrative>Actual Start: 2024-11-28</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2028-05-18" type="3"><narrative>Planned End: 2028-05-18</narrative></activity-date><contact-info type="1"><organisation><narrative>FPI</narrative></organisation><department><narrative>EC - The action aims at supporting peace and stability as well as mitigating conflict over natural resources in key areas of conflict in Nigeria. This will include supporting transitional justice mechanisms, promoting civic engagement of women and local youth, and inter-generational dialogue to positively engage young people and to prevent them from associating with criminal groups.</narrative></description><participating-org ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI" role="1" type="15" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2022-PC-24150"><narrative>European Commission</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XM-DAC-47066" role="2" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2022-PC-24150"><narrative>International Organisation for Migration</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI" role="3" type="15" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2022-PC-24150"><narrative>Service for Foreign Policy Instruments</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XM-DAC-47066" role="4" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2022-PC-24150"><narrative>INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MIGR ATION</narrative></participating-org><other-identifier ref="2022600094902" type="A2"></other-identifier><other-identifier ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2022/440-908" type="A3"></other-identifier><activity-status code="4"></activity-status><activity-date iso-date="2022-12-23" type="1"><narrative>Planned Start: 2022-12-23</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2023-01-16" type="2"><narrative>Actual Start: 2023-01-16</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2025-01-15" type="3"><narrative>Planned End: 2025-01-15</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2025-01-15" type="4"><narrative>Actual End: 2025-01-15</narrative></activity-date><contact-info type="1"><organisation><narrative>SN</narrative></organisation><department><narrative>Delegation of the European Union to Senegal</narrative></department><telephone>(221) 33.889.10.71/33.889.11.00</telephone><email>delegation-senegal@ec.europa.eu</email><website>www.delsen.ec.europa.eu</website><mailing-address><narrative>12, avenue Hassan II, DAKAR</narrative></mailing-address></contact-info><activity-scope code="4"></activity-scope><recipient-country code="NG"><narrative>Nigeria</narrative></recipient-country><location><location-reach code="1"></location-reach><name><narrative>NG - Different factions of Boko Haram have gradually gained ground as shown by the recent waves of attacks in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States. Entire parts of the territory are currently under the control of insurgents. Military operations have resulted in the arrest and detention of thousands of suspected fighters and associates, including civilians and victims in some instances. The government¿s ¿Operation Safe Corridor¿ launched in 2016 has been the main initiative to address low risk ex-combatants and associates and to encourage defections from insurgent groups. This 18-months measure will build on previous engagement to support efforts by Nigerian actors to protect civilians and to engage former combatants and associates of insurgent groups and reintegrate them into communities.</narrative></description><participating-org ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI" role="1" type="15" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2021-ACT-60498"><narrative>European Commission</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XM-DAC-47066" role="2" type="40" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2021-ACT-60498"><narrative>International Organisation for Migration</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI" role="3" type="15" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2021-ACT-60498"><narrative>Service for Foreign Policy Instruments</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XM-DAC-47066" role="4" type="40" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2021-ACT-60498"><narrative></narrative></participating-org><other-identifier ref="2021000082" type="A2"></other-identifier><other-identifier ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2021/43609/0" type="A3"></other-identifier><activity-status code="2"></activity-status><activity-date iso-date="2021-10-06" type="1"><narrative>Planned Start: 2021-10-06</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2021-10-06" type="2"><narrative>Actual Start: 2021-10-06</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2025-04-06" type="3"><narrative>Planned End: 2025-04-06</narrative></activity-date><contact-info type="1"><organisation><narrative>FPI</narrative></organisation><department><narrative>EC - The action will address key drivers of violence, criminality and poor local governance in the region through inclusive community approaches to security and stability. It will support local actors to address security issues at the community level, with a focus on youth and women, compounded with engagement of national and local government authorities as well as the private sector.</narrative></description><participating-org ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI" role="1" type="15" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2023-ACT-62258"><narrative>European Commission</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XM-DAC-22000" role="2" type="22" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2023-ACT-62258"><narrative>Donor country-based NGO</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI" role="3" type="15" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2023-ACT-62258"><narrative>Service for Foreign Policy Instruments</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XM-DAC-22000" role="4" type="22" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2023-ACT-62258"><narrative></narrative></participating-org><other-identifier ref="2023604136" type="A2"></other-identifier><activity-status code="2"></activity-status><activity-date iso-date="2023-08-30" type="1"><narrative>Planned Start: 2023-08-30</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2023-08-30" type="2"><narrative>Actual Start: 2023-08-30</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2027-02-14" type="3"><narrative>Planned End: 2027-02-14</narrative></activity-date><contact-info type="1"><organisation><narrative>FPI</narrative></organisation><department><narrative>EC - The action aims at supporting peace and stability as well as mitigating conflict over natural resources in key areas of conflict in Nigeria. This will include supporting transitional justice mechanisms, promoting civic engagement of women and local youth, and inter-generational dialogue to positively engage young people and to prevent them from associating with criminal groups.</narrative></description><participating-org ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI" role="1" type="15" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2022-PC-21635"><narrative>European Commission</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XM-DAC-47066" role="2" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2022-PC-21635"><narrative>International Organisation for Migration</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI" role="3" type="15" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2022-PC-21635"><narrative>Service for Foreign Policy Instruments</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XM-DAC-47066" role="4" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2022-PC-21635"><narrative>INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MIGR ATION</narrative></participating-org><other-identifier ref="2022600094901" type="A2"></other-identifier><other-identifier ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2022/438-280" type="A3"></other-identifier><activity-status code="4"></activity-status><activity-date iso-date="2022-12-07" type="1"><narrative>Planned Start: 2022-12-07</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2023-01-16" type="2"><narrative>Actual Start: 2023-01-16</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2025-01-15" type="3"><narrative>Planned End: 2025-01-15</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2025-01-15" type="4"><narrative>Actual End: 2025-01-15</narrative></activity-date><contact-info type="1"><organisation><narrative>SN</narrative></organisation><department><narrative>Delegation of the European Union to Senegal</narrative></department><telephone>(221) 33.889.10.71/33.889.11.00</telephone><email>delegation-senegal@ec.europa.eu</email><website>www.delsen.ec.europa.eu</website><mailing-address><narrative>12, avenue Hassan II, DAKAR</narrative></mailing-address></contact-info><activity-scope code="4"></activity-scope><recipient-country code="NG"><narrative>Nigeria</narrative></recipient-country><location><location-reach code="1"></location-reach><name><narrative>NG - This 18-month exceptional assistance measure will aim at facilitating peace, reducing violence and enhancing resilience among conflict affected communities. In the Northwest, the action will build on the encouraging results of an EU pilot project in Katsina state, expanding to other states ¿ namely Sokoto and Zamfara - supporting community-based livelihoods, social cohesion and climate change adaptation projects. Finally, the action will support mediation efforts in the Northeast, in order to explore and propose options for a political resolution of the crises.</narrative></description><participating-org ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI" role="1" type="15" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2025-PC-50275"><narrative>European Commission</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XM-DAC-47066" role="2" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2025-PC-50275"><narrative>International Organisation for Migration</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XI-IATI-EC_FPI" role="3" type="15" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2025-PC-50275"><narrative>Service for Foreign Policy Instruments</narrative></participating-org><participating-org ref="XM-DAC-47066" role="4" activity-id="XI-IATI-EC_FPI-2025-PC-50275"><narrative>INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MIGR ATION</narrative></participating-org><other-identifier ref="2024604780900" type="A2"></other-identifier><activity-status code="2"></activity-status><activity-date iso-date="2025-04-22" type="1"><narrative>Planned Start: 2025-04-22</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2025-04-22" type="2"><narrative>Actual Start: 2025-04-22</narrative></activity-date><activity-date iso-date="2026-10-21" type="3"><narrative>Planned End: 2026-10-21</narrative></activity-date><contact-info type="1"><organisation><narrative>SN</narrative></organisation><department><narrative>Delegation of the European Union to Senegal</narrative></department><telephone>(221) 33.889.10.71/33.889.11.00</telephone><email>delegation-senegal@ec.europa.eu</email><website>www.delsen.ec.europa.eu</website><mailing-address><narrative>12, avenue Hassan II, DAKAR</narrative></mailing-address></contact-info><recipient-country code="NG"><narrative>Nigeria</narrative></recipient-country><location><location-reach code="1"></location-reach><name><narrative>NG</narrative></name><description><narrative>Nigeria</narrative></description></location><sector vocabulary="1" code="15220" percentage="100"><narrative>Civilian peace-building, conflict prevention and resolution</narrative></sector><tag vocabulary="2" code="5"><narrative>SDG 05: Gender Equality</narrative></tag><tag vocabulary="2" code="16"><narrative>SDG 16: Peace and Justice Strong Institutions</narrative></tag><policy-marker vocabulary="1" code="1" significance="1"><narrative>Gender Equality</narrative></policy-marker><policy-marker vocabulary="1" code="2" significance="0"><narrative>Aid to Environment</narrative></policy-marker><policy-marker vocabulary="1" code="3" significance="2"><narrative>Participatory Development/Good Governance</narrative></policy-marker><policy-marker vocabulary="1" code="5" significance="0"><narrative>Aid Targeting the Objectives of the Convention on Biological Diversity</narrative></policy-marker><policy-marker vocabulary="1" code="6" significance="0"><narrative>Aid Targeting the Objectives of the Framework Convention on Climate Change -
