The projects has been extended by a further 5 months and will be ending in May 2021. The project seeks to economically empower at least 1300 young people who are HIV positive or are at risk of contracting the virus through Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET), integrated with Entrepreneurship and life skills education (integral TVET). It is envisaged that through the project, the following results will be achieved:
The project is expected to set footprints into the expanded Sexual Reproductive Health /HIV Regional programme to be rolled out by the Kingdom of the Netherlands Embassy in Maputo in 2021 which will reach out to more young people and countries. In order to achieve the above-mentioned results, the following activities will be implemented:
Result 1: Improved employability (including employability potential), income, health and livelihood security for 1300 vulnerable adolescents and young people, especially those affected by HIV in rural, urban and border towns of Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
Result 2: Increased knowledge levels and access to comprehensive sexual reproductive health (SRH) & HIV information and services.
Result 3: Knowledge on co-relations between economic strengthening and SRH & HIV interventions gathered, documented and disseminated. Young vulnerable people between the ages of 15-24 years old. Drawing from the lessons of the Skills 2 Live pilot project implemented by Young Africa (YA) International Hub from June 2019- December 2020 as well as aligning to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Maputo Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) regional programme, Young Africa International is implementing the Skills 2 Live Phase II project for 6 years (2021- 2026) in Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
