SE-ON-802011-1442-SE-0-SE-6-17419 Civil Rights Defenders <narrative xml:lang="en">Global Initiative for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law</narrative> Through its Global Initiative for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law program 2025–2029, CRD seeks to address the urgent challenges facing human rights defenders (HRDs) and civil society organisations (CSOs) globally. CRD’s Theory of Change envisions a world with democratic societies where everyone enjoys civil and political rights. Our approach focuses on capacity development, strengthening civil society, and promoting human rights. CRD’s 2023–2030 strategy is built on four pillars—Security, Capacity, Engagement, and Accountability. These pillars guide all activities within the program, from emergency support and security training to capacity development, advocacy, and legal assistance.
