It is this spread in earnings that has made farmers continue to grow coffee. However, as observed, coffee industry suffers from quality and quantity issues. The governance of farmer cooperatives has remained a nagging problem. Financial management and control of farmers money has also been a borne of contention. Now the organization has entered into a contract with Mbasira Food Industries Ltd, a Sumbawanga based bulk buyer and processor of maize to supply 600MT during the current season to commence in June 2018. The order guarantees the organization a premium price of Tzs 10/kg above the prevailing market price at the time of supply. This supply arrangement calls for enhancing the AMCOS organizational, financial and agricultural capacities through USADF OAG.
