With a €500,000 contribution, the 12-month project will provide legal aid, documentation support, cash assistance for urgent needs and vocational training to foster self-reliance. It adopts an Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) approach and aligns with the humanitarian-development-peace triple nexus, Italy’s Cooperation priorities, and the 2025–2026 Regional Refugee and Migrant Response Plan. Among the planned spaces: sports area, kitchen; dining hall; halls and auditorium. The use of photovoltaic panels and green spaces/courtyards is planned, designed to reduce the environmental impact of the school complex and highlight the commitment to sustainable architecture that is integrated with the surrounding environment. The school curriculum will include the teaching of the subjects required by Brazilian law, but also a wide range of cultural programmes and sports activities, such as music, theatre, dance, and performing arts workshops. There will be essential services, such as a canteen with annexed kitchen, a gymnasium and an auditorium. The contribution is consistent with SDG 4, particularly target 4.1 (By 2030, ensure that all girls and boys complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education leading to relevant and effective learning outcomes). Il progetto mira a costruire un centro educativo completamente gratuito, comprensivo di scuole professionali, per bambini e giovani, dai 6 ai 18 anni, in gravi situazioni di disagio e vulnerabilità sociale. L'obiettivo è creare un edificio articolato sul modello di un villaggio, con piazze e strade che rappresentino luoghi di socializzazione. Tra gli spazi previsti: area sportiva, cucina; refettorio; sale e auditorium. È previsto l'uso di pannelli fotovoltaici e di spazi verdi/cortili, pensati per ridurre l'impatto ambientale del complesso scolastico e sottolineare l'impegno per un'architettura sostenibile e integrata con l'ambiente circostante. The project aims at providingsupport for the reconstruction of the Municipality of Santa Tereza, to cope with the humanitarian emergency resulting from the devastating consequences of the floods. The project envisages contributing to the reconstruction phase and supporting recovery from both an infrastructural and socio-economic point of view. The intervention will be divided into three phases: a technical assistance mission aimed at assessing the damage that has occurred and evaluating specific interventions for the reconstruction process; a phase of supplying means and equipment - including the rental of a quarry truck for removing rubble and other residues; and a final phase of monitoring the activities carried out. The project is particularly aimed at providing technical assistance in response to emergencies, contributing to improve the response capacity of local institutions. Il progetto prevede di contribuire alla fase di ricostruzione e di sostenere la ripresa sia dal punto di vista infrastrutturale che socio-economico.
