The purpose of this award is to support the travel, subsistence, and accommodation of up to two delegates from developing countries to attend the meeting of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) Conference of the Parties. CITES regulates the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity to ensure no species entering into international trade is threatened with extinction. There are currently 184 Parties to the Convention. Meetings will occur in Panama City, Panama in November 2022. The funding also contributes to the management and administration of the Sponsored Delegates Project.
