Its goal is to overcome challenges like divergent regulations, high non-tariff trade costs, and a lack of infrastructure. Collaboration with FAO is envisaged to facilitate political dialogue, enhance trade policies, and support SMEs. Key objectives include the development of agricultural value chains, support for trade policies, and the facilitation of investments in agricultural trade. Major stakeholders involve the Ministries of Agriculture and Trade in both countries, as well as the private sector and SMEs. This initiative complements other ongoing or planned efforts to improve the agricultural sector and the economy in the Beira Corridor region. L'iniziativa mira a rafforzare le capacità degli attori politici e delle MPMI in Mozambico e Zimbabwe per sfruttare gli accordi commerciali regionali e continentali. L'obiettivo è superare le sfide come normative divergenti, costi commerciali non tariffari elevati e mancanza di infrastrutture. La collaborazione con la FAO è prevista per guidare il dialogo politico, migliorare le politiche commerciali e sostenere le MPMI. Gli obiettivi chiave includono lo sviluppo delle catene del valore agricolo, il supporto alle politiche commerciali e la facilitazione degli investimenti nel commercio agricolo. Le principali parti interessate sono i ministeri dell'agricoltura e del commercio nei due paesi, oltre al settore privato e alle MPMI.
