XM-DAC-41123-PROJECT-190341United Nations Industrial Development Organization This project derives from the longstanding collaboration established with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, since the joint declaration signed between UNIDO ITPO Italy and Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia on 8th May 2015. The objective of the project is to create linkages and networks between regional, national and international innovators, industry and public and private technology producers and research centres. The Innovation Bridge Trieste # Dubai 2020 foresee a programme of activities to anticipate and link two major events: Trieste ESOF 2020 - European City of Science and Expo Dubai 2020 #Connecting Minds, Creating the Future#. Within this context, the project will be aimed at supporting local and international stakeholders to find innovative and sustainable solutions for inclusive economic development. Therefore, to achieve transformative changes and to transfer technology and know-how for entrepreneurship, innovation needs to be scaled-up and spread globally. The Centre aims to support the health industry to enable prompt, flexible and effective responses to future pandemics and emergency crisis. This will be achieved by promoting advanced technologies and good practices in manufacturing health products, facilitating global partnerships, and sharing innovative solutions. The UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), the Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DoH), and the Global Mice Organization Limited (GMOL) are the main UNIDO partners in this initiative. The initiative at large comprises three intervention stages: design, piloting, and scaling-up phases. The IPI is a key short-term economic indicator designed to measure fluctuations in production output in real terms at high frequency, enabling the early identification of trends and turning points in the business cycle. The data provided by the IPI will be crucial for monitoring progress on the UAE's national industrial strategy. The Mini stry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) of the UAE requested this initiative as a follow-up to a previous project (UNIDO SAP 210264), which was suspended to allow MoIAT to address existing data gaps. This new project will be implemented jointly by UNIDO, MoIAT, and the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre (FCSC), in collaboration with regional statistical centers.
